OPI I Don't Give A Rotterdam! Swatches and Review.

My lovely mother came home with this nail polish today and as per usual I couldn't wait to try it out BUT I currently have Deborah Lippmann Razzle Dazzle on (..an upcoming post) which is too pretty to remove. So I painted my mums nails with it, and have come to the conclusion...I love it! It applies really nicely as with all OPI polishes, although I did have to apply 3 coats which I have never had to do with and OPI one before.  This colour is really great for Spring/Summer, and I am really trying to build up my collection of lights and pastels as I only really have dark colours.

I'd also like to mention that my mum has really pale skin, so it's a bit of a pain finding colours to suit her skin as some tones just look odd, but this colour suits her skin tone really well!

Have a great day! :D

Glossybox April 2012

I was so excited for this month's Glossybox and when I received it in the post this morning it definitely didn't disappoint!

So, obviously the first thing I noticed about my box, was that it wasn't its signature baby pink colour. On the little card inside it explains 'With spring in the air, we are proud to introduce out Natural Beauty box; five natural beauty products guaranteed to make you feel your best, look gorgeous while at the same time satisfying the green goddess within.'  And I think this is great.

Kai Perfume Oil

'Our intoxicating signature  perfume oil fragranced with Kai's light, intoxicating blend of Gardenia wrapped in white exotics'

On the top of my Glossybox was this simple little bottle of perfume oil, and to be honest I put this aside whilst I was revelling over the other things in my box. But when I came back to smell this, I'm definitely glad I did. This is the most flowery perfume I have ever smelt in my life! It's quite literally, Summer in a bottle.

Inika Cosmetics Certified Organic Eyeliner

'A rich and creamy consistency unparalleled in the world of natural liners'

The description says it all really. This eye liner glides on really smoothly and is super pigmented. It also smudges out really well before it 'sets' so would be great for creating a beautiful smokey eye.

Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst-Quenching Serum

'This newly-launched ultra-concentrated serum is extremely natural and plant-based, ensuring your skin never lacks moisture'

I've only tried this on the back of my hand, but a teeny tiny amount goes a looong way and skin drinks its smooth, velvety-ness up in an instant.

Figs & Rouge Lip Balm

'100% Pure, 100% Natural and 100% Organic Multipurpose balm. Excellent for Soothing and Naturally Hydrating dry lips and skin'

I was delighted to see this in my Glossybox as I had actually planned on buying it as I'd heard good reviews about it. I'd like to start with a warning: Do NOT do what I did and stick your finger in it thinking it's hard. It's not, and now I have big dip in it (doh!). Secondly, this stuff is really smooth and applies very smoothly. I like it, I like it a lot (Dumb and Dumber style).

EDIT: I had a reaction to this, read about it here.

Ayuuri Natural Body Wash

T'he Ayuuri Natural skincare range is based on fruit, plant and flower extracts that have long been used in India to enhance skin's natural beauty'

This smells absolutely bootiful! I love the scent of Sandalwood so was really happy that I received this one. It leaves your skin feeling squeaky clean yet nourished at the same time.

Shellac Wildfire

This is a post, that isn't really a post to be honest. My mums a beauty therapist and she came home yesterday with her nails all Shellac'd up with this gorgeous colour, and I just had to share it with you! The colour is Wildfire which they also offer as a normal polish from Creative Nail Design, so if you're like me and like to change up your nail polish near enough everyday, you can still have this lovely colour.  I've already raved about Shellac here. if you'd like to learn more about it :)

Hope you enjoyed it, and feel free to ask any questions you may have about Shellac or anything else :)

The Body Shop Spa Wisdom Japan Range Review

My mum received this set as a gift for her birthday and kindly let me use it for 'review purposes' ;)
Let me just start by saying they all smell AMAZING! They have a very fresh scent that really does make you feel like you're in a spa.

Japan Yuzu and Green Tea Bath Salts

(I just realized I've photographed the French Side. Doh!)

To use this you're meant to pour it under running water, but I'm very clumsy and knew if I did that I'd drop the whole damn tub in. So I scooped some out with my hand and put my hand under the running tap. I just want to say, this fills the WHOLE house with the scent, just like a lush bath bomb does! As for its colour, it doesn't change the colour of the bath water although it does turn it slightly milky (as you can see below). This is going to sound a bit ridiculous, but it makes the water feel luxurious!  Like you're stepping into your own little oasis.

Japan Apricot and Rice Bran Finishing Mist

I was a little bewildered about what to do with this product so after some research I found out that you can spray it on your face and body to smooth, refresh and hydrate. So reluctantly, I sprayed a bit of this onto my face. It felt really weird spraying it on and left my skin feeling almost sticky. It does have that amazing smell, but its just as strong as it is in the body products, so I think it's a little over powering for your face.

Japan Adzuki Bean and Rice Bran Showel Gel

I used this along with my Body Shop poof and it lathers up sooooo well into a lovely creamy foam. It left my skin feeling squeaky clean and the scent lingers on your skin for hours.

Japan Adzuki Bean and Rice Wash Grains

Its instructions are 'Dampen skin and exfoliate with dry grains. Add water to foam up grains'. I did the first part and it felt really nice, I like how the grains were quite large and rough because I feel some body scrubs are a bit too gentle. The second part where it was meant to foam when water was added didn't happen which was a bit disappointing, but once I had washed the product off my skin felt heavenly! My skin has never felt so nice after any other body scrub I have aver used! The grains do not dissolve so they do stay in the bottom of your bath, so I'd probably recommend this as a shower scrub.

Japan Yuzu and Rice Body Milk

The first thing I like about this is its precise spray. I hate it when they just spray out willy-nilly and get everywhere. This product is quite watery so it's not the most moisturising, but it's great to just apply if you're in a rush and need a quick moisturise. Just spray on, rub in, and because it sinks in fast you don't have to worry about getting it on your clothes while you're dressing.

I hope you found this helpful, please feel free to ask any other questions you may have about these products. Have a great day! :D

Nail of the Day: Models Own Aqua Violet and Ibiza Mix

I blogged about this fantabulous Ibiza Mix polish the other day here, and I couldn't wait to try it over other colours. So I whipped out my much loved Aqua Violet (from the Models Own Beetlejuice Collection). This looks amazing in person and the picture really doesn't justify it. It looks very oceanic yet spacey at the same time. I love it!

Have a great day! :)

Models Own Hedkandi Ibiza Mix Review and Swatches.

Models Own Hedkandi Ibiza Mix over the top of Revlons' Charming which you can see here.

When I heard that Models Own were releasing a Hedkandi range my thoughts were, well, nothing. I'm not into all that clubbing malarkey and neon colours and that's what I thought this range was going to be. But I spotted this bad boy on the shelf in Boots and it shone to me like the light of a thousand sons. Ok, that may be a little over dramatic, but c'mon look at it! It's bootiful!

I think it would look lovely over pretty much any colour because there's light and dark sparkles in it, and it also looks great on its own as you can see in the pictures below. The spacing of the glitter is a bit random but you can just move them around with the brush, no trouble.

I hope you enjoyed this and have a great day! :)

Remington CI9522 Pearl Pro Styler Review

Review

I have been looking for a new styling tool for a while but was unsure about which to buy, so I did some research and like the concept of this one so I bought it (and I got it on sale too!)

When I first received this, my first thought was 'Wow, this is heavy!' I wondered if it would make my arm ache when I curling/waving my hair, but it's actually not noticeable when I'm using it. It has multiple heat settings going from 130˚C to 210˚C, so depending on your hair thickness you would change the temperature to match. They heat up super hot and super fast. They come with a protective glove so that you don't burn your fingers, but I find this hard to use as I can't separate my hair well whilst wearing it. I really like the curls that this tool creates and I think they're perfect for summer.

Advantages:
 ♥Heats up really fast.
♥Curls are very long lasting, even without hairspray.

Disadvantages
♥ The first time I used these, it made my hair smell like burnt popcorn, and even after a couple of washes I could still faintly smell it in my hair. Odd.

Maybelline Color Tattoo Swatches and Review

So I finally managed to pick some of these up after weeks of checking when they'll be back in stock online, and I chose Permanent Taupe and On and On Bronze. These colours are sooo pretty! (See swatches below). I don't really own any cream eye products because I have hooded eyes so they tend to crease really easily on me, but I heard such good things about these that I had to try them.

Review

I applied Permanent Taupe all over my lid and along my lower lash line with an Urban Decay Shadow Brush and applied nothing else on my lid, just this alone so I could really test their staying power. It went on really well and blended effortlessly. The cream actually 'sets' and it then just feels like a powder eye shadow on your eyes. I then applied my mascara and eye liner and out I went. See the results below!

At the start of the day, just after I applied ..

At the end of the day!

It has not budged!! I am seriously amazed with this product! I would definitely buy more from the range as they are super quick easy to apply and stay amazingly well.

I hope this helped and don't forget to follow! :)

Nail of the Day: Revlon Charming 211

I bought this nail polish today, and was eager to try it out so I applied it as soon as I got home. I looooove this colour, definitely one of my favourites for spring! I have only ever tried one Revlon nail polish and that was many years ago so I picked this up, sort of unsure about its quality. It applies really well and is really opaque after just one coat which is rare in polishes when it comes to pastel colours. I have only just put this on so I'm not 100% sure of its durability yet but I'll be sure to update!

Nail Of The Day: Blue Moon by Barry M

Today I wanted to wear a light polish as the weather is becoming nice again after the random April snow! I chose Blue Moon by Barry M (and Aqua-Violet by Models Own on my pinkie), and to be honest, I am not the biggest fan of the Barry M polishes. They dry up and go goopy really quick and you have to apply at least 3 coats to get the colour to be opaque. They do have a nice colour range though, so I suppose they're OK if you just want a cheapy one.

Have a great day! :D

A (Kind Of) Birthday Haul!

So, it was my birthday last week and I got a few lovely treats so I thought I'd share what I got with you! :)

MAC Sheertone Blush in 'Pinch O' Peach'
I loooove this blush! It's so pigmented and such a pretty colour

Above: MAC Pinch O' Peach Swatch

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in 'Demolition'
These are my favourite eye liners, they are really smooth and very, very pigmented. I originally tried these out in my Naked palette and loved the colour 'Whiskey' which was a really nice, warm-brown colour. I just used mine up so wanted to re-purchase but found out that they don't sell that colour! So this one was the closest to it, although a bit darker.

Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Liner 'Demolition' Swatch

My mum ordered the eye liner and blush for me from Debenhams online, and they came with two samples: Opium Vapeurs De Parfum by YSL and Estee Lauder DayWear Advanced Multi-Protection Anti-Oxident Creme Oil-Free Spf 25 (certainly a lot of hyphens!) I have not yet tried the cream but the perfume smells B.E.A.utiful!

The Body Shop Cucumber Water
This toner is really nice to just wipe over your face to refresh your skin. It's really gentle and smells delightful!

EOS Lipbalm in Passion Fruit
Now there was a lot of hype around these little babies, but I refused to believe it was about the product and more so about its packaging. Still, I wanted one and finally gave in and ordered myself one as a birthday treat ;) Well, it's not just the packaging. This is the creamiest, smoothest lip balm I have EVER used and it's sooo moisturising, I actually just ordered another one of these in Summer Fruits!

I hope you enjoyed this and have a great day! :)

Daytime Smokey Eye Tutorial

This is one of my go-to looks as it is so simple yet effective. I did this look using my original Urban Decay Naked Palette.

For The Face
Foundation: Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in 'Siberia'
Concealer: YSL Touche Eclat
Blusher: Nars Orgasm Blush

For The Eyes

1: Prime your eyes. I used UD Primer Potion.

2: Apply Hustle to the outer half of the lid

3: Apply toasted to the inner half of your eyelid and blend them together so there's no definite line.

4: Using the tiniest amount of Creep, apply it to the very outer part of the crease, just to darken in up a bit.

5: Take Buck on a fluffy brush and blend all along the crease.

6: On a small brush apply Hustle to the outer part of the lower lash line.

7: Then apply Toasted to the inner corner.

8: Take Virgin on a fluffy brush and apply it along the brow bone and to the inner corner of your eye.

9: Apply a black or brown liner (depending on the desired intensity), to the upper water line and squeeze eyes shut tight so that it transfers to the lower waterline.

10: Apply Mascara.

For The Lips
For this look I would go with a neutral lip colour such as Syrup from MAC.

I hope you enjoyed this, and don't forget to follow for more tutorials, swatches, review etc..! :)
